cmp_flash(1G)cmp_flash(1G)NAMEcmp_flash - Update compositor firmware
SYNOPSIS
/usr/gfx/STINGRAY/bin/cmp_flash [-v] [-q]
DESCRIPTIONcmp_flash updates the firmware stored on the compositor attached to VPRO
graphics. Normally, cmp_flash is executed automatically during the
installation of a new release of IRIX. A customer should rarely need to
use it directly. You must have superuser privelege to use this command.
By default, cmp_flash probes each VPRO board attached to the system for a
compositor board, and flashes it to the current revision.
Unless forced, cmp_flash does not update the firmware unless the
specified version is newer than what is currently installed. cmp_flash
can be used to obtain information about the current firmware level.
The options are:
-q Query the currently installed firmware versions.
-v Turn on verbose mode
WARNINGS
The cmp_flash command is not intended for casual use. If used
incorrectly, it can prevent the compositor from functioning. Silicon
Graphics strongly recommends that this command only be used under the
supervision of a support representative.
cmp_flash may take a long time to run.
