NAMEdkprobe - probe all configured disks
SYNOPSIS
$PCP_BINADM_DIR/dkprobe [-V]
DESCRIPTIONdkprobe uses getinvent(3) to establish the list of disk devices in the
system, then attempts to open the volume header of each.
On systems that do not use the Hardware Graph Filesystem (see
hwgraph(4)), i.e. versions of IRIX prior to IRIX6.4, dkprobe is called
from $PCP_RC_DIR/pcp when pmcd(1) is started to ensure that the IRIX disk
statistics are initialized. There should be no constructive reason for
running dkprobe otherwise.
The -V flag turns on verbose mode; the name of each disk volume is
printed as it is probed, and an error message is produced if the probe
fails for any reason.

PCP ENVIRONMENT
Environment variables with the prefix PCP_ are used to parameterize the
file and directory names used by PCP. On each installation, the file
/etc/pcp.conf contains the local values for these variables. The
$PCP_CONF variable may be used to specify an alternative configuration
file, as described in pcp.conf(4).
