dmconf(1G)dmconf(1G)NAMEdmconf - Create, and load video format combinations for DM5 and Vpro
Graphics
SYNOPSIS
/usr/gfx/dmconf [destination] [options]
DESCRIPTIONdmconf creates and operates on video format combinations, descriptions of
raster sizes and timings to be used on video outputs. The resulting
combination can be used as the current video configuration, or saved to a
file for later use with the setmon(1G) command. To download a
combination, dmconf requires write access to the
/usr/gfx/ucode/STINGRAY/cmb directory.
Options
-destination [active | file <filename>] - This option specifies the
destination of the video format combination.
active specifies that the combination will be loaded as the current,
active video configuration. The combination will be lost when
graphics is reinitialized, or the system is rebooted.
file specifies that the combination will be saved in a video format
combination file <filename>. <filename> is specified relative to
the current working directory. Combination files must be located in
/usr/gfx/ucode/STINGRAY/cmb to be downloaded to the hardware.
The following options modify the specified video format combination.
-vpro [parameter|parameter=value,...] - Modifies the attributes for the
vpro video output.
format= <filename> - Specifies the video format to be used by the
VPro graphics video output.
-dm5 [parameter|paramteter=value,...] - Modifies the attributes for the
DM5 video option
colorspace= [ REC709_10 | REC709_8 | CCIR601_10 | CCIR601_8 |
REC240_10 | REC240_8 ] - Specifies the colorspace to be output by
the DM5. In the DM5 option, the RGB pixels from the framebuffer are
converted into one of 3 colospaces, at either 8 or 10 bits per
component. The three colorspaces are REC 709, CCIR601, and REC240.
The default colorspace is REC 709 at 10 bits per component.

decimationfilter= [ OFF | NARROW | SMPTE ] - Specifies how the 4:2:2
decimation filter is to be used. OFF turns off the decimation
filter. DM5 will drop samples to get a 4:2:2 output. NARROW uses a
27 tap filter (... 0 0 1/4 1/2 1/4 0 0 ...). The primary use of this
filter is for source images that are hard-edged, non-anti-aliased
graphics where the decimation (no filter) would have serious color
artifact aliasing and the SMPTE filter would show severe ringing.
SMPTE uses the SMPTE standard decimation filter. The default is
SMPTE.
ecc= [ON|OFF] - Specifies whether the DM5 error correcting code
option is to be used. The DM5 ECC attempts to detect and correct
errors sent over the DVI link. The default value for ecc is ON.
format= [ 1080I_5994 | 1080I_60 | 1080I_50 | 1080PsF_2398 |
1080PsF_24 | 1080P_2398 | 1080P_24 | 1080P_25 | 1080P_2997 |
1080P_30 | 720P_5994 | 720P_60 | 525I_5994 | 625I_50 ] - Specifies
the video format to be output from the DM5. 525I_5994 and 625I_50
will be output from the SD output of the VBOB. All other formats
will be output from the HD output of the VBOB.
origin= w + h - Specifies the origin of the DM5 output in the
framebuffer. The location is specified in pixels, and is relative to
the upper-left corner of the screen. The default origin is 0+0.
syncsource= [INTERNAL|EXTERNAL] - Specifies whether the DM5 is to
attempt to genlock to an external source, or whether it is to free
run. The default is EXTERNAL.
EXAMPLESdmconf-destination file 1920x1154_2997r2+1080I.cmb \
-vpro format=1920x1154_2997r2 \
-dm5 format=1080I_5994
Creates a combination file 1920x1154_2997r2+1080I.cmb with the vpro
running at 1920x1154_2997r2, and the DM5 outputting 1080I_5994.
dmconf-destination file 1080I_offset.cmb \
-vpro format=1920x1154_2997r2 \
-dm5 format=525I_5994,origin=100+100
Creates a combination file 1080I_offset.cmb with the vpro running at
1920x1154_2997r2, and the DM5 outputting the 720x486I region with
its origin at 100,100.
