DESCRIPTION
OpenOffice is a multi-platform office productivity suite. It includes the
key desktop applications, such as a word processor, spreadsheet,
presentation manager, and drawing program, with a user interface and
feature set similar to other office suites. Sophisticated and flexible,
OpenOffice also works transparently with a variety of file formats,
including those of Microsoft Office.
More information can be found at http://openoffice.org/,
/usr/OpenOffice/README, /usr/OpenOffice/LICENSE, and the available
OpenOffice Help Documents.
soffice is a convenience script which runs OpenOffice with the arguments
specified on the command line.
OPTIONS
Command line options are described below. Note that any arguments that
are specified are passed to /usr/OpenOffice/soffice.
-display
Causes OpenOffice to connect to the specified X-server DISPLAY.
-minimized
Do not display the introductory "splash" screen when starting up.
-norestore
Informs OpenOffice to not restore all opened documents automatically
after a crash. If a given file is what is causing the application to
crash, the only way to start the application to have it ignore the
"culprit file" is by specifying the -norestore option.
-o Force open documents regardless if they are templates or not
-p Print specified file(s) to the current (default) printer.
-pt Print specified file(s) to a particular printer/output device
(device must be specified after the argument).
-quickstart
Will start the application without displaying the introductory
"splash" (see -minimized). If a copy of the application is already
running, it will invoke (use) that copy ("run-once" behavior). If
the application is not running, no visible UI will appear.
