SUN2STIFF(1) Impressario SUN2STIFF(1)NAMEsun2stiff - convert a Sun Rasterfile image file to Stream TIFF (STIFF)
SYNOPSISsun2stiff [-O filename] [-L filename]
[-s] [-h] [-D] [SunRasterFilename ...]
DESCRIPTIONsun2stiff converts Sun Rasterfile image files into Stream TIFF (STIFF)
format.
By default, sun2stiff reads its input image from the standard input,
writes its output to the standard output and sends messages to standard
error. If one or more image files are specified on the command line,
sun2stiff reads input from these files rather than the standard input.
-O filename
Specifies the name of the file to which the STIFF output will
be sent. If the -O option is not specified, output will be
sent to the standard output.
-L filename
Specifies the name of the file to which error, warning and
informational messages are to be written. If the file specified
already exists, any messages generated by sun2stiff will be
appended to the end of the file. If the -L option is not
specified, message output will be sent to standard error.
-s Normally, 24 and 32-bit deep Sun images order the data as BGR.
When the image type code is RT_FORMAT_RGB, the data is ordered
RGB. However, Sun images have been encountered that do not
follow these rules. In that case the -s option can be used to
force the swapping of the Red and Blue image components.
-h Prints a program usage message to the standard error. This
usage message also lists the currently supported output
configurations.
-D Specifies verbose output for debugging purposes.
NOTES
1. sun2stiff supports the Sun Rasterfile image encoding types RT_OLD
(0), RT_STANDARD (1), RT_BYTE_ENCODED (2) and RT_FORMAT_RGB (3).
The program does not support embedded TIFF (RT_FORMAT_TIFF (4)),
embedded IFF (RT_FORMAT_IFF (5)) or experimental (RT_EXPERIMENTAL
(65535)) image encoding types.
2. In order to be processed by sun2stiff, 1-bit deep images that have
colormaps must have their colormap type equal to RMT_RAW.

3. If sun2stiff is given an unrecognized or incomplete command line
option switch, it will print a warning message to the standard
error, ignore the option and continue processing.
